Project Description
Executive Family Dwelling
Construction of a family dwelling on a secluded private estate within the walled grounds of a former school. The design responded to the clients brief for a house to suit a young family with the ability to host both large family gatherings and smaller and more formal dinner parties, whilst providing an office for the client’s business.
The house is constructed using a structurally insulated panel (SIP) system which achieves high thermal parameters in hand with a quick build time. The panels are clad with predominantly stone and details of cement particleboard cladding. Natural oak structures are used to define key features with full height glazed openings to the Master bedroom and side single storey element forming the kitchen / breakfast area. The entrance is centralised to the front, where a cantilevered staircase and double height space are incorporated to create a dramatic effect when entering. This is further enhanced with discreet lighting and feature tiles to the wall. Off this central entrance hall are the reception rooms which are open plan and with large glazed openings providing a direct link to the rear garden. Sliding pocket doors allow the space to be opened up.
